Challenge
Cumbersome workflows and difficulties with customer support led the organization to search for a more efficient solution. However, going live with the first system is difficult, because it's not always easy to give up paper charts at first. With the previous EHR, it was difficult to get into patient charts, and access different types of information within the patient charts.
Results
With Allscripts, Specialty Eye Institute achieved:
- More intuitive workflows that can adapt to each user, because they were e-signed by ophthalmologists, for ophthalmologists
- Reduced clicks when closing a chart, from 16 clicks and 3+ minutes with the previous system to a single click
- A successful implementation that enabled physicians to get back to a full schedule within one to three weeks from start to finish.
